Greek Study Tour
We have been organising study tours annually to Greece and Crete for third level students in Irish universities since 1998. The study tours are an important part of our activities and they offer an opportunity for students of Classics and Archaeology to visit Greece to enhance their studies by visits to museums, sites and landscapes. Some of our partner Universities incorporate the study tour into their curriculum as a credit bearing learning activity.
Student Bursaries
The Irish Institute of Hellenic Studies at Athens (IIHSA) invites applications by students from Irish universities for the 2023 travel bursaries to Greece. Two bursaries are available to the value of €750 each. The award is intended to cover travel expenses Ireland-Athens return, accommodation in the Institute’s hostel (or equivalent) and expenses for two weeks travel/research in Greece. The bursary winners will also be awarded free IIHSA membership for the year, which entitles them to a year’s (free) pass to archaeological sites, museums, and the libraries in Athens.
